The Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in the Guishan District of Taiwan’s Taoyuan City is one of the largest hospitals in the world by bed capacity. With nearly 4,000 beds, it treats more than 8.2 million people every year in both inpatient and outpatient procedures. The hospital was founded in 1978 and is a part of the Chang Gung Memorial Foundation hospital network, which connects it to seven other hospitals throughout the country. It has trained 828 physicians in its time frame, some of whom delegates will be expected to collaborate with as they navigate the complex world of medical insurance, negotiations over prescription drug prices, and other administrative tasks to keep the hospital’s heart beating and blood flowing.
