Advisor Resources

In keeping with our focus on the individual delegate experience, BosMUN XI has totally revamped delegate training and resources. We have drawn on the expansive knowledge and experience of the BU International Affairs Association’s members as award-winning delegates, chairs, crisis directors, and conference administrators to provide you with the best delegate material available. We have also revisited our Rules of Procedure and Awards Policy to enhance the conference experience. More material will be made available as it is finalized, so be sure to check back frequently!

BosMUN XI Waiver – You must bring a completed waiver (signed by a parent/legal guardian if under 18) for each delegate to the conference. If we do not receive this at check-in, the delegate will not be allowed to participate in the conference.

Code of Conduct – This document lays out the rules by which delegates must abide throughout the conference. New advisors should note that delegates are required to wear Western Business Attire at opening ceremonies and during all committee sessions.

Rules of Procedure – This document explains the rules by which committee sessions will be run. It is based on Roberts Rules of Order and is similar to the manner in which most Model UN conferences operate. There are some specific differences in BosMUN’s rules, but these can easily be learned by reading through the document and by following our committee chairs’ guidance during the conference.

Awards Policy – This document explains BosMUN XI’s awards policy.

BosMUN 101 & 102 – These documents were created by the BosMUN Secretariat and BU’s Travel Team Head Delegate. They provide a basic overview of introductory delegate training and advanced delegate training. We will also have panels for beginner delegate training and advanced delegate training with some of our best delegates and chairs at the conference, where you can ask more in-depth questions. Please note that these guides are password-protected just like the Mini-Guides and Background Guides.

Crisis Committee Briefing – This explains the document types delegates will use (instead of Resolutions) in our Crisis Committees and most of our Specialized Agencies.

Position Paper Guidlines – This document explains the proper format and due dates for BosMUN Position Papers, which are required from each delegate in order to be eligible for an award.
