Committee Overview

Non-Governmental Organizations have a very active role within the United Nations. They collaborate with the UN, its agencies and its member states. NGOs work with United Nations in various ways, including raising awareness about specific issues, promoting policies, offering technical expertise, and collaborating financially and resource-wise with UN programs. Under the UN Charter, NGOs may establish a working relationship with particular departments or agencies.

At BosMUN, the NGO Forum will have two components. First, NGOs will be able to discuss issues of international importance with each other, offering their insights and suggestions for greater collaboration to address some of today’s toughest challenges. Delegates will also be able to visit other committees during the conference and lend their expertise and official approval to proposals and resolutions that are favorable to the goals of their NGO.
