Brandon Tomkiewicz – Secretary General
Brandon is a senior at Boston University studying International Relations, Political Science, and Chinese. He is originally from Western New York, where he surprisingly fell in love with world affairs and politics. Brandon has staffed BosMUN and BarMUN in the past. Last year, he had the honor of being the USG for Crisis Committees for BosMUN XIII. Brandon is really excited to share the BosMUN experience with both veteran and new delegates. He guarantees that the conference will be an amazing time that you will not want to miss.
Codie Smith – Director General
Codie is a junior majoring in Computer Engineering. She is originally from Portsmouth, Rhode Island, but now resides in Taunton, Massachusetts. She enjoys movie marathons, cooking and baking, and precious moments with her friends and family. She attended BosMUN twice as a delegate, and has staffed every conference since she arrived at Boston University. Codie is extremely excited for this years conference, and is honored to be your Director General.
Lara Cohen is a sophomore at Boston University majoring in Human Physiology on the pre-medical track. She is originally from New York and loves to dance, explore the city of Boston, and nap. Lara began doing Model UN in high school, and was chair for BosMUN’s general assembly committee SPECPOL last year. When she was a delegate in high school, their team’s motto was “We Delegate, We Dance, We Dominate.” (And she has the sweatshirt to prove it.) Though she is studying otherwise, she is extremely interested in international relations and psychology.
Meghan McCormick – USG ECOSOC
Meghan is a senior double majoring in History and Social Studies Education. She has been participating in Model UN since she was a freshman in high school. At both BosMUN XII and XIII she chaired ECOSOC committees. She was also an assistant Crisis Director for BarMUN VII this year. When not participating in BUIAA events Meghan is involved with BU Greek life. If she doesn’t get a job after graduation her goal is to intern with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Natalie Bracco – USG Specialized
Natalie is a sophomore majoring in International Relations with a Psychology minor. Having served as Vice President for her high school Model United Nations team in New York, Natalie has always been fascinated with debate and world issues, which led her to pursue Model United Nations at BU. She had a wonderful time chairing BosMUN 2014’s UN Commission on the Status of Women. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys watching movies, playing tennis, and going rock-climbing. Natalie loves to sing and is a member of BU’s premiere all female a cappella group, “Chordially Yours.” She is also a member of BU’s Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Natalie hopes to spread her passion for Model UN through this coming BosMUN and wants to make this BosMUN the best one yet!
Roshni is a sophomore at Boston University currently studying International Relations with a minor in Public Health. She was actively involved with Model United Nations during high school, and served on the Floating Crisis Room for BosMUN XIII. She enjoys travelling, photography, and reading. She is excited to be on staff for BosMUN XIV and looks forward to making it the best BosMUN yet!
Erinn Benedict – Conference Affairs Director
Erinn is a senior at Boston University studying International Relations and History. She first fell in love with MUN during her sophomore year at BU after staffing BarMUN, the conference BU hosts for college students. Since then, Erinn has staffed multiple conferences and competed on the university’s MUN travel team. When she’s not MUN-ing, Erinn serves as Scholarship Director for her sorority Kappa Alpha Theta. She spends a ridiculous amount of time watching Ted Talks and prefers BBC to all other news sources. If you see her around the conference, ask her about Iran and Afghanistan, if you want to get her talking–her senior thesis just happens to focus on the Persian World.
Hannah is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences studying International Relations and Middle East and North Africa. Originally from Houston, she has lived in England and Switzerland but travelled back to the US to attend Boston University, and from her experiences abroad, she speaks Spanish, German, French, Arabic and English (of course). She has been involved in BUIAA since the first weeks of her freshman year, travelling with the MUN team and holding the position of Chargee D’ Affairs on the BarMUN VI secretariat. She is thrilled to now work on BosMUN, which she has been a part of since BosMUN XII. Outside of school, she writes for numerous music blogs and magazines, snowboards, goes to concerts and designs.
Hope Kashatus – Information Director
Hope is a sophomore in the College of Arts Sciences studying Political Science and History. Since she is a DC Area native, Hope loves all things involving politics and current events, and since coming to BU has been an active member of BU’s International Affairs Association. She has competed for BUIAA’s travel team, assisted with both BarMUN VI and BosMUN XII, and seizes any opportunity to discuss international affairs. When Hope is not participating in Model UN activities, she enjoys spreading BU enthusiasm as an Admissions Ambassador, playing egregious amounts of country music, and frequenting her local Starbucks at least twice a day. Hope could not be more thrilled to be serving as Information Director on the BosMUN XIII Secretariat and looks forward to seeing all of our talented delegates participate in a great conference!
Gabriella Gricius – Technical Director
Gabriella is a senior studying International Relations and minoring in German. She has participated in Model UN since High School, and has continued throughout college as a Crisis Staffer, Vice Chair and Chair for BosMUN and BarMUN. When she isn’t obsessing over Model UN, Gabriella enjoys reading, reviewing books, and drinking tea. Since the summer of 2013, she has studied security policy in Dresden, Germany and federalism theory in Innsbruck, Austria. She is super excited to be the Technical Director for this year’s Secretariat!
